Tour Description

You’ll be driven from the north of the city with its modern neighborhoods till the entrance of the colonial center,the basilica Del Voto Nacional¸ here you’ll made a first stop in order to learn about its mythical history.Moving on, you'll arrive to San Juan gazer to overview a landscape picture of the old town.

Back to the bus and after a short ride you’ll be into the heart of the colonial center, the Independence Square. You’ll walk through the antique streets which hold the history of this lovely city, on the way you´ll find emblematic buildings such us: the Cathedral, the Government Palace, the Archbishop Palace and others. You’ll visit the Compañía Church, which is one of the most representative baroque edifications in the world with all the altars cover in gold leaf; in addition you’ll appreciate fine colonial art  in San Francisco Church, which was build in the XVII century and today harbours one the biggest art collections in the city.  

You’ll part from the old city with a visit to Panecillo hill¸ where you’ll enjoy the views of the all city mixture of new and classic. 

 

Afterwards, you’ll continue the tour headed to the Middle of the World, where you’ll have the chance to see the monument that divides the north hemisphere from the south. Build during the XVII century in the same spot where the scientific expedition form France defined the Equator line. As an alternative you can visit the Ethnographic Museum hold inside the monument or the didactic Intiñan Museum where you’ll be able to experience the gravity forces in the parallel 0°.
